12.21.12… THE END OF THE WORLD?

Christians must realize that you cannot preach the Gospel without the first statement of the creed, as the apostle Paul shows. Christ the Savior is the Creator. Christ is “the image of the invisible God,…by [whom] all things were created,… the firstborn from the dead, [who] made peace by the blood of his cross”(Col 1:15-20). Of his world, as the angel Gabriel declared, there will be no end (Luke 1:33). May Christmas 2012 remind us of that unique birth, the proof that God, not the Mayan calendar, is in control of history.

Jungian spirituality has seduced the masses. Jung’s personal practice of occultism and sexual freedom, presented as a “scientific” method, gave vast authority to the subconscious. People today justify all kinds of pagan spiritualities and sexual fantasies in the name of self-expression and spiritual health. Not the Bible but my subconscious “tells me so.” This corresponds with the Sixties Jungian mantra, “If it moves, fondle it, if it feels good, just do it.” This last phrase became a Nike commercial!

Two-ism and the Missional Life, with Rev. David Fandey

"When we talk about the missional life, we are going to have to understand that mission is always cross-cultural. All of us have a culture we come from, and culture is not an a-moral thing. There are elements of every culture that are bad and there are parts of every culture that are good. There are things in most cultures that are worthy of redeeming. To live missionally we are necessarily going to have to learn to live cross culturally. To do this effectively it’s going to take huge doses of grace and humility mixed with boldness in the gospel. We are taking the gospel that exists in a 'Two-ist worldview' and attempting to communicate it in a culture that largely has a 'One-ist worldview'."
