7:00 Lecture: Steve Baarendse
Steve Baarendse teaches English and Humantities at Columbia International University in South Carolina. He was born and raised in a church-planting family in Vienna, Austria. He studied at Taylor University (BA English/Art) and Indiana University (MA Comp. Lit./Art History). He met his wife Sara while teaching at Black Forest Academy in Germany. Steve is currently writing a dissertation at the University of South Carolina on depravity and grace in the thought of Pascal, Georges Rouault, and Flannery O’Connor. Steve, Sara, and their children Abigail (7), Jacob (5), and David (3) attend Lexington Presbyterian Church.
The Pacific Sound Brass Quintet is a group of like-minded professionals who seed to glorify God and spread the gospel of Christ through performance of exceptional brass literature. PSBQ believes that, as Christians, they are called to set a standard of musical excellence as a means to exalt the Creator. Their music is designed to ispire and entertain, whether the audience is the church, the community, a corporation or an educational organization. Hailing from San Diego, California, PSBQ performs regularly throughout the Soutwestern United States in churches of all Christian denominations.
