A New Chapter for TruthXchange
“TruthXchange is a hill I’m willing to die on.”
That’s one of the first things Joshua Gielow said to me after we hired him fifteen years ago. I had only just met the young man, but he had already been volunteering for the ministry for more than a year. He very quickly proved the truth and depth of his dedication to truthXchange.
As my administrative assistant, Joshua excelled, allowing his passion for our mission and message to shine through in everything he did. Over the years, I have watched that passion mature into a remarkable combination of theological conviction, faithful service, and a gift for building relationships that has served our ministry exceedingly well.
I tell you this because, this morning, the truthXchange Board of Directors had the great pleasure of unanimously electing Joshua Gielow as our new Executive Director. I could not be more delighted.

The Board’s enthusiasm for Joshua’s appointment is rooted in his long and proven record of advancing the mission of truthXchange. He understands deeply the biblical distinction between Oneism and Twoism that has been at the heart of our teaching from the beginning. He is committed to proclaiming the truth of the gospel in a culture increasingly confused about the nature of God, humanity, and creation. And he has demonstrated an extraordinary ability to cultivate lasting friendships and partnerships with Christian leaders across denominational and ministry lines.
I remember sending Joshua to represent TruthXchange at Ligonier’s annual conference many years ago. We wondered how this young, tattooed fellow would be received among the distinguished theologians and conference attendees. We needn’t have worried! To our delight, people flocked to our ministry table. Many were especially eager to speak with a young Christian man whom they believed their children and grandchildren could relate to. Joshua was able to communicate profound biblical truths with a warmth and accessibility that immediately put people at ease.
That experience revealed something I have seen repeated countless times since. Joshua has a wonderful ability to make friends, earn trust, and build bridges without compromising biblical truth. The relationships he began developing at Ligonier have multiplied through his faithful representation of truthXchange at the Presbyterian Church in America’s General Assembly, the Orthodox Presbyterian Church’s annual meetings, and among pastors and elders throughout the North American Presbyterian and Reformed Council (NAPARC) churches.
These are not merely professional contacts. They are enduring friendships, forged through a shared commitment to the authority of Scripture, the glory of Christ, and the faithful proclamation of the gospel.
Joshua has also continued to prepare himself for the work to which God has called him. He earned his MA in theology and serves as an elder at King’s Church in Irmo, South Carolina. His theological training, pastoral experience, and fifteen years of service to truthXchange have equipped him exceptionally well to lead this ministry into its next chapter.
This morning, the Board also graciously and unanimously appointed me Founder and Distinguished Fellow of truthXchange. I am deeply honored by this designation and grateful that it allows me to continue contributing to the work I have loved for so many years. Though I am stepping away from the responsibilities of Executive Director, I am not stepping away from
the mission. I look forward to continuing to write, teach, and encourage the next generation of Christian thinkers and leaders, while supporting Joshua as he assumes this important responsibility.

I am also delighted to announce that the Board has unanimously welcomed Robert Weller, Rosaria Butterfield, and Pastor Josh Smith as new members of the truthXchange Board of Directors. Each brings gifts, experience, and a commitment to biblical truth that will strengthen the ministry as it moves forward. Their willingness to serve is a great encouragement to me personally and a wonderful expression of confidence in the continuing importance of our
work.
For many years, truthXchange has sought to help the Church understand the profound worldview conflict between worshiping the Creator and worshiping the creation. That distinction, drawn so clearly by the Apostle Paul in Romans 1, is not merely an intellectual framework. The Lord allowed me to see its importance, and to explain the gospel clearly in terms of Oneism and Twoism. This is essential to addressing the spiritual confusion of our age. Joshua seeks to carry on that message.
The cultural expressions of Oneism may change, but the fundamental spiritual problem remains the same. Our calling, therefore, remains unchanged.
TruthXchange exists to equip and empower churches to communicate the gospel effectively and lovingly to a culture that has lost the crucial distinction between worshiping creation and worshiping the Triune Creator and Redeemer. That is the mission Joshua embraced fifteen years ago. It is the mission he has faithfully promoted ever since. And it is the mission he will now lead into the coming decades.
I know that many of you who have walked alongside truthXchange through the years share our desire to see this ministry continue to flourish. You have prayed for us, supported our work, attended our conferences, read our publications, and encouraged us in ways you may never fully realize. Your friendship has been a great gift.
I hope you will share my joy and the Board’s excitement as we look toward the future. We are not abandoning the vision upon which truthXchange was founded. Rather, we are entrusting its continued advancement to a man who has spent fifteen years demonstrating that he understands it, loves it, and is willing to give himself wholeheartedly to it.
I can think of no better person to carry this work forward.
With gratitude to our faithful God and great anticipation for what lies ahead,
