The Tyranny of Decadence By Dr. Peter Jones In our present world, decadence is replacing decency. For the sake of personal freedom our culture sanctions a sexual revolution that German sociologist, Gabriele Kuby believes “will quite possibly prove to be the most destructive revolution in history.” She goes on to state that “the extent to […]
REVIEW OF Rachel Lu, “The LGBT Movement Will Self-Destruct,” The Federalist (May 31, 2016) http://thefederalist.com/2016/05/31/the-lgbt-movement-will-self-destruct/ Rachel Lu begins her controversial thesis by describing the innocuous rise and fall of “inventive spelling,” which proposed liberating options like “girl,” “gurl” and “grrrrl.” This is hardly reason to think that the supremacy of pan-sexuality will disappear as speedily. […]
The new Western progressive view of sexuality claims that there are no given sexual identities. Each individual creates his, her “hir”, “zir”, “nir”, “vis”, “eir” or “Xyr” sexual self-definition in our approaching “just” society. No opposition will be considered. Here are some recent expressions of sexual self-determination: A 60-something Bruce Jenner, one of the world’s […]
Facing a mounting cultural pressure to conform, Christians often receive accusations of bigotry and hate. The Bible offers us a positive, life-giving message of salvation, expressed, in particular, in a life of God-honoring heterosexuality.
Christians must realize that you cannot preach the Gospel without the first statement of the creed, as the apostle Paul shows. Christ the Savior is the Creator. Christ is “the image of the invisible God,…by [whom] all things were created,… the firstborn from the dead, [who] made peace by the blood of his cross”(Col 1:15-20). Of his world, as the angel Gabriel declared, there will be no end (Luke 1:33). May Christmas 2012 remind us of that unique birth, the proof that God, not the Mayan calendar, is in control of history.
It is My Businessby Dr. Peter Jones | August 27, 2021
I recently heard a sermon that gave me deep concern. It was on 1 Peter 4:12–13, a text that predicts serious suffering for Christian believers. Peter, who was crucified upside down by the “civil” authorities of Rome, wrote: “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test […]
Guilty, Anyone?by Dr. Peter Jones | July 20, 2021
How easy it is for us to feel guilty and to make others feel guilty. The damning accusation of racism divides both the culture and the church because it is one of the most deeply felt indictments one could hear. Such an indictment creates guilt and shame in the accused, yet it is deeply subjective. Anyone […]

When you think of a Christian college, what image comes to mind? For many of us, we envision idyllic campuses, brick buildings, devout professors, zealous students, fervent worship, transformative bible studies, and life-long friendships. Christian colleges have influenced the lives of millions of Americans, fostering generations of faithful followers of Christ. But how well does […]
Seattle Pacific University and the State of Christian Higher Educationby David Talcott | July 14, 2021
It can be difficult to communicate exactly what is going on at Christian colleges. But recent events at Seattle Pacific University give a clear illustration of how Christian colleges are on the edge of falling away from a biblical worldview. Originally founded as a Free Methodist seminary in 1891, Seattle Pacific is an old and […]
