19. Are Atheist pagans? Atheists worship no “gods,” so to speak. But they are pagans in the broad sense. Atheists deny the Creator, or anything beyond the one reality of the universe. They do not call anything divine, but generally view the universe with the awe and wonder normally associated with a deity. They see […]
In Romans 1:25, Paul sums up in 25 Greek words the bedrock nature of spiritual conflict, be it in the Garden, in his own time, or, by implication, in ours. In this verse he lays out an irreducible age-old conflict between two opposing world views: the worship and service of creation, or, the worship and service of the Creator. These two options sum up the whole of reality.
Like golf, where you call penalties on yourself, capitalism is partly self–reglementing, but with the abandonment of Christian morals in the West, the free enterprise system has fallen into disrepute. The only real savior is Jesus and a spiritual revival, but many now turn to pagan spirituality where there is no conscience, and to a […]
Originally appeared in Tabletalk Magazine The New Age turns a major Christian problem into a piece of cake. If every one is God then each person’s will is “God’s will.” Seeking guidance has never been easier. Just ask your [divine] self! Fortunately, most Christians realize that discerning God’s will is more complicated than that. Nevertheless, […]
Most people believe the jerseys are either black or white. On the black team are materialistic unbelieving atheists. (Audio Lecture) Identity from Within or from the Mind of Christby Joshua Gielow | April 17, 2020
Dr. Butterfield gives a brilliant analysis of how Christ delivers people caught in the practice of homosexuality, by putting to death the works of the flesh, including the attempt falsely to justify “celibate” homosexual desire as pleasing to God, and by embracing God’s creational truth for his glory and our good. The culture’s definition of […]
Shifting Sandsby Dr. Peter Jones | April 10, 2020
“Lord, what are you saying during this crisis?” That is the question on every Christian’s mind. The mighty, miniscule virus is slaying thousands every day. On March 29th, Dr. Anthony Fauci estimated that the US might see between 100,000 and 200,000 deaths before the crisis fades. Christians must yet remain calm, asking God to give us […]
An Elephant Called Fearby Rebecca Jones | April 8, 2020
But if we are to chase the elephant of fear out of our churches, we must allow God to face it down through the power of his love. “God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but of love, of power, and of a strong mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). If we are to face down the elephant of fear, we must do it by absorbing God’s forgiveness. “Perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment” (1 John 4:18).
